Apply Online: Interested applicants can apply online at www.kpu.ca/apply to be considered for admission to their program of choice. Applicants looking to transfer courses to KPU from a recognized post-secondary institution will need to ensure they select “Yes” for a transfer credit assessment within the online application.
Applications may close early due to high demand so it is important to apply early.
The Bachelor of Psychiatric (BPN) program is a full-time cohort program. Psychiatric nursing students will learn psychiatric nursing theory, mental health promotion and wellness. Program courses are offered in a hybrid or online format. Learning is supported by practice experiences in institutional and community settings. Upon graduation, students will be eligible to apply for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and to write the Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Canada Examination (RPNCE).
The Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing program is guided by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). To work as a registered psychiatric nurse, graduates must meet the required competencies and standards set by the BCCNM. More information can be found at the following links:
